MARS RELEASES “SOBER ME UP” FEAT. PERRIN XTHONA WITH METANOIA MUSIC!

07 august 2020 (Philadelphia, PA) Up-and-coming 21-year-old DJ and producer MARS (Mario Garraffo) just released his Metanoia Music single “Sober Me Up” with Perrin Xthona (LISTEN HERE), a track that brings an indie dance pop vibe to a lighthearted summer bop. The song follows a one-night stand going horribly right, describing the refreshing feeling of meeting someone who “sobers you up”. 

With this single release with Metanoia Music, MARS combines vibey production and fresh vocal tones with attentive harmonies to create a sound that emulates the bounce of artists like Mura Masa and Party Pupils. While it remains dance-oriented at its core, 'Sober Me Up' maintains a lyrical depth that takes a lighthearted and fun approach to an impromptu love story. After getting in the studio with co-writers Perrin Xthona, James Mckernan and Gabbi Gotts, MARS geared the production in the verses to contrast a pre-chorus and drop that ‘come out of left field,’ mimicking the suddenness of the story told in the lyrics. Perrin, having a way with her harmonies and crisp vocal tones, spreads a rich layer over the production to round out the track. 

Raised between Milan, Italy, and Philadelphia, PA, MARS started taking his first steps into music as a jazz guitar player. Creating music has been his way of building on these different cultures to bend genres in unique ways that haven’t been done before. He is now an Electronic Production and Design Major at Berklee College of Music and hopes to emanate electricity and bounce through his music. His recent releases “Fall (feat. Lis)” and “Stupid Happy” have amassed hundreds of thousands of streams.
